Ben was a member of staff at Linton Travel Tavern, and Sophie's boyfriend in I'm Alan Partridge. Alan is jealous and disdainful of Ben's romance with Sophie, and does his best to sabotage their romantic trysts. Ben enjoys music, including the Beatles, Nirvana and Frank Sinatra. Despite Alan's irritation at Ben's informal, laid-back attitude, he does appear to have some respect for Ben, attempting clumsily to impress him with his own views on popular music.
